I had to read through this story twice, because the author hid so many "clues". I have been recommending this book. An amazing story for my wife's book club." FC Starred Review: detailed descriptions...engaging the reader’s senses at all levels - lends itself, in fact, to a film adaptation..." Reviewed By Rabia Tanveer for Reader's Favorite The Stone Thread, First Chronicle is the first novel in The Stone Thread series by J. R. Evangelisti. Intelligent and beautiful, Dr. Elizabeth Wellstrom, a.k.a. Ellie, loves her job as a historic word researcher. It is interesting, keeps her on her toes, and allows her to look up something fantastic almost every day. However, when Ellie comes across a word whose origins date back centuries, she views it as a challenge. Joined by her boyfriend/co-worker Doug, Ellie starts an investigation that takes a dangerous turn. Before she knows it, a mad killer is after her, and there is no stopping the killer. She and Doug have to figure out the mystery behind this word before the killer catches up to them. Fast paced and well-thought-out, The Stone Thread is everything a reader needs to be occupied for hours. Ellie is the type of protagonist readers fall in love with. She is relatable, comfortable, and very likable; all the traits that make her a hit for me. While the characters are very important in the plot, author J. R. Evangelisti makes sure readers appreciate the story for the masterful narrative. The author left clues in between the twists and turns, allowing readers to fully immerse themselves in the story and then revealing the actual twists that shape the future of the story. One read-through is not enough; you need to read this novel again and again to get the full experience. I will not be surprised if this novel gets turned into a movie very soon. ****************************************** About the author... J.R.Evangelisti has written in a variety of genres, to include comedy, mystery and science fiction. |

The theories discussed in this book were intriguing and they weren't confusing nor did I need to use Google to decipher them, thanks to J. R. Evangelisti’s concise explanations and examples in layman’s terms. I was pleased with the plot and it came across as well thought out and structured. The pacing was to my liking as well, and it worked hand in hand with the tension in certain scenes to bring the scenes to life. The characters that J. R. Evangelisti has created formed a likable and organic cast. A strong supporting cast of characters complemented an already stellar main cast. The characters were multidimensional and had some nice depth to them. There weren't any weak links. They all had a role to play in breathing life into the story. I enjoyed reading this book! The content and formatting were just perfect, and I believe fellow sci-fi lovers will feel the same way about this book after reading it. Plenty goes wrong along the way in this heart-warming, edgy, humorous and delightful comedic story as they learn a lot about themselves and what really matters in life...a true friend. Review Five Star A humorous and touching look at growing up of two young women who seem such polar opposites and find themselves in a series of crazed and comedic situations starting with their appearance for tryouts with the college's football team. The action goes smoothly and fluidly in this disarming comedy that's an absolute hoot to read. Dr. Richard is fabulous as the dastardly history professor who is determined to rid the college of athletes, starting with the college's newest female football players. I also loved the sense of romance and youthful exuberance of their sudden decision to go on a road trip along Route 66 and chuckled at their misadventures along the way. A gem of a sleeper that's highly recommended.
